Where is the Room Addition Going? Up & Out
A room addition will either go up or out. When going up you will cut into the attic space and make a stair way entrance for your addition. If you are going out, this mean you are connecting to the exterior walls. In most cases, extending out will require an additional foundation to be poured. When deciding where your addition is going, it will determine what will be needed to begin the building process.
